How we write and check our guides
Business owners use our guides to make real decisions about their reviews and Google Business Profile. This page explains who writes them, how we check facts and how we keep them up to date.

Why our guides exist
Our guides are written to help local business owners understand Google reviews and Business Profiles and act on them, whether or not they ever hire us. We follow Google’s own advice on creating helpful, reliable, people-first content: every guide should leave the reader able to do something they couldn’t do before.
Who writes our content
Every guide is written by a named author with hands-on experience in reputation management, local search or customer reviews. You can see who wrote a guide at the top and bottom of each article, along with a short bio and, where available, links to their professional profiles.
Our writers work with the same tools and situations our clients face every day. When a guide describes a process, it is based on doing that process, not on summarizing other articles.
How we research
Google changes its tools, layouts and policies often. To keep our guides accurate, we rely on primary sources first:
- Google’s official Help Centers, policy pages and product announcements
- Google’s content policy for reviews and Business Profile guidelines
- Our own testing inside real Business Profiles
- Published research from established industry sources, clearly cited
When we mention a number, a rule or a limit, we link to the source where we can, so you can check it yourself.
Review before publishing
Before a guide goes live, a second member of our team reads it to check that:
- The facts are correct and match the current version of Google’s tools and policies.
- The steps work when followed exactly as written.
- The advice is safe and keeps a business within Google’s rules.
- The guide is clear for a busy owner with no technical background.
Our use of AI tools
We may use AI tools to help with research, outlines, grammar or illustrations. They never replace our writers. Every guide is written, checked and edited by a person on our team, and every fact is verified against a reliable source before publishing. Featured images on our guides are illustrations, not screenshots, unless they are clearly labeled as screenshots.
Independence
RevyuRank is an independent service and is not affiliated with Google. No company pays us to be mentioned in our guides, and we don’t accept sponsored placements. When we mention third-party tools, it is because they are useful for the task, and we tell you to check their current pricing yourself.
We also offer paid services. When a guide mentions one, it is because it is relevant to the problem, and the guide always explains how to do the work yourself first.
What we won’t publish
We never publish advice that could put a business at risk, including:
- Buying, trading or writing fake reviews
- Offering rewards or discounts in exchange for reviews
- Asking only happy customers for reviews (review gating)
- Keyword stuffing business names, fake addresses or duplicate listings
- Promises of guaranteed rankings or guaranteed review removal
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows when it was first published and when it was last updated. We review our guides regularly and update them when Google changes a tool, a policy or a process.
If you spot a mistake or something out of date, please tell us through our contact page. We check every report, correct confirmed errors quickly and update the date on the guide. To learn more about who we are, visit our About page.
