Scan the preview with your phone before printing. For best results, print the QR code at least 3 cm (about 1.2 in) wide.

Why review QR codes work

The best moment to ask for a review is while the customer is still with you, happy with the experience. A QR code makes that moment count: they point their phone camera at it, tap once, and your review form opens. No searching, no typing, no forgetting.

Every phone camera made in recent years reads QR codes without an extra app, so the card works for almost every customer.

Where to place your QR code

  • Counters and checkout desks, where customers wait for a moment
  • Restaurant tables and menus, seen right after a good meal
  • Receipts, invoices and delivery boxes, for customers who leave quickly
  • Thank-you cards handed over with a finished job
  • Waiting rooms in clinics, salons and service centers

Printing tips

  • Size: print the QR code at least 3 cm (about 1.2 inches) wide. Bigger is better for signs read from a distance.
  • Contrast: keep a dark QR code on a light background. Very light colors are hard for cameras to read.
  • Test first: scan the printed card with two different phones before printing in bulk.
  • Placement: avoid glossy surfaces under bright lights, since reflections can block the scan.

Rules to follow

  • Show it to every customer, not only those you think are happy.
  • Don’t add rewards like “scan for a discount”. Incentives for reviews break the rules.
  • Let customers write freely. Never suggest what they should say or which rating to give.

These rules come from Google’s review policies. If you want QR cards, review links and timed reminders working together as one system, our Google review generation service sets it up for you.

FAQ

Questions about review QR codes

Does the QR code ever expire?

No. The code stores your review link directly, so it keeps working as long as your link works. There is no tracking service in between.

Can I change the colors?

Yes. Pick any color, but keep it dark enough to contrast with the white background so phones can read it easily.

What size should I print it?

At least 3 cm wide for cards and receipts. For wall signs, use a larger code so people can scan it from a step away.

Is this tool free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up. The QR code is created in your browser and nothing is saved.
