Review Request Message Builder
Write a short, friendly message asking customers for a Google review. Choose text, email or WhatsApp, pick a tone, and copy a ready-to-send message in seconds.
Send the same request to every customer, and only text people who have agreed to receive messages from you.
What makes a good request
The messages that get the most reviews are short, personal and easy to act on. Each template in this tool follows the same simple pattern:
- Thank them and use their name when you can.
- Mention the experience, like their meal, appointment or order.
- Ask once, clearly, for a review on Google.
- Include one direct link that opens the review form.
Avoid long paragraphs, several links or anything that feels like a sales message. One clear request works best.
When to send it
Send your request while the experience is still fresh, usually within a few hours to a day:
- Restaurants and salons: a few hours after the visit
- Clinics: later the same day or the next morning
- Home services: right after the job is finished and checked
- Online stores: a few days after delivery, once the product has been used
One reminder a few days later is fine if there’s no reply. More than that starts to feel like pressure.
Text, email or WhatsApp?
Text messages are read fastest and suit local businesses with phone numbers on file. Keep them to one SMS (160 characters) when you can, which the tool counts for you. Email gives you more room and suits online stores and professional services. WhatsApp works well where customers already message you there.
Want requests going out automatically after every sale or visit? Our Google review generation service sets up the timing, messages and tracking for you.
Rules to follow
- Ask every customer, not only the ones you think are happy. Selective asking is against Google’s rules.
- Never offer rewards such as discounts or gifts for a review.
- Get consent before texting. Only send messages to customers who agreed to hear from you.
See Google’s review policies for the full rules, and the US Federal Trade Commission’s rule on fake reviews for what businesses must avoid.
Questions about review requests
How many times should I ask for a review?
Once, with one gentle reminder a few days later if there’s no response. More than that can annoy customers.
Can I ask for a 5-star review?
No. Ask for honest feedback. Asking for a specific rating can break Google’s rules and makes reviews look less trustworthy.
Why is my text message counted as two SMS?
A single SMS fits 160 characters. Longer messages are split into parts, which can cost more. Choose the “Short and simple” tone to stay within one.
Is this tool free?
Yes, completely free with no sign-up. Messages are created in your browser and nothing is saved.
